Today's video we purchased a vehicle awning from Napa Autoparts which is a Maxi Trac 8ft x 8ft awning. These re a great value and bang for your buck especially compared to many other brands out there.

I didn't want the awning to be at full height all of the time, i wanted it to be lower when traveling to reduce wind resistance, total trailer height and top heaviness.

So, we fabricated some custom adjustable mounts that will allow the awning to be at different heights depending on the situation. This would work on any overland style canopy setup on your Jeep, Toyota, etc.

This lightweight camping trailer build will be towed by my 1960 VW Beetle that is a cross between a volksrod and a baja, named the Sickxty. Full build series can be found in my YouTube playlist.
