In this video I create a Coffee Roasting Plan For Light Roasts. Creating a roasting plan will help me avoid frustrations, learn from my mistakes, roast consistently, and ultimately craft some great specialty coffee. I am roasting an Ethiopian washed coffee that has delicate notes inclulding apricot, black tea, and lemongrass. My goal is for a short total roast time, lower ending temperatures, and great flavor development. The roaster I am using today is a Kaleido M10 sealed unit with a 1.2 kilo roasting capacity. I will be roasting 400 grams of green coffee today with the goal of a moisture loss of less than 12%.
