We visited Waiheke Island, which is the second largest island in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand. It is a beautiful haven of vineyards, wineries, beaches and golf, and is just a 30-40 minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland. Visit the beautiful Oneroa and Onetangi Beach, with the Onetangi beach being the longest one at 2km on the island. There are also over 20 vineyards on the island, and you can go on a wine tour through them!

We took the ferry from the Devonport Ferry terminal, and commuted around the island on the Hop-On Hop-Off bus. You can also rent e-bikes, bring your own bicycle in, or even walk (don't recommend this as the island is quite big!).
