Clerks the Animated Series (2000), one of the best cartoons of all time, died before it could live. That’s right! Kevin Smith converted Clerks, his R rated 1994 indie film, into a family-friendly cartoon on Disney ABC. It was magically witty, edgy, and smart, but it only ran for two episodes before swiftly getting booted from the network! This video explores the cartoon that preceded Clerks 3, how this unexpectedly charming series was greenlit, what made it so good, and what lead to its demise.
