This dance was created by KGPAA Mangkunagårå VIII (Mangkunegaran’s 8th king) and describes how teenage girls showing off their dance talents. The word 'Retnå' means gold, while the word 'Kusumå' means flower. It can be interpreted also as a girl who is turning into a lady who shines like gold. This dance is usually performed to welcome guests which attend at a ceremony.
