This is an original song by Mr P Nut, performing in the 1992 grand final of Aussie talent show, New Faces, compered by Bert Newton. This was no Australian or American Idol, production wise, but it used to have some quirky and unusual acts. Perhaps more akin to Australia's Got Talent these days.

I do not know Mr P Nut's real name, but I saved this song for nearly 20 years on video, as there was something about it that appealed to me.

My channel so far is all slideshow video, and this is my first attempt at doing a real video clip.

UPDATE : (As of Jan 2023) First saw this act in 1992 and posted my slideshow video some twenty years later. It's always intrigued me, so recently I tried googling his name to determine what sort of presence he had online given the passage of time. Could not find anything. But I did find a CD by him on ebay (Plane Sailing), and noticed it seemed to be aimed at kids. Purchased it and while the songs could be for kids, they also had a kind of Syd Barrett innocence. Strangely SPRING ROSE etc was not on it. But I found several other songs that I liked very much. Also deduced from the CD that his real name is Leo Kelly from Melbourne (unbelievably Mr P Nut is not his real name!). Used this to do more online searching and discovered he was lead singer with a punkish sixties influenced Melbourne band called The Arctic Circles in the eighties, with music completely different to Mr P Nut. Here is a song called 'Angel' by them which I like very much :
