This recorded webinar will update the Daring Cities community, especially leaders, about the outcomes of UNFCCC COP28. COP28 saw several momentous outcomes for local and regional governments, including the launch of the CHAMP Initiative, recognition of multilevel partnership in the negotiated outcomes, local and regional leaders in dialogue with high level national representatives, and subnationals prominently featured in the official proceedings of the event. Several Daring Cities leaders made valuable interventions while at COP28.

It is now crucial for local and regional governments to understand how the outcomes of COP28 can advance the climate emergency response in their communities. To ensure a balanced view of what happened at COP28 and what the outcomes mean for different regions of the world, we will be hearing from local and regional leaders from both the Global South and the Global North as they share their learnings and key takeaways from COP28 with us. In addition, we will also hear from the High-Level Climate Champions team and the LGMA UNFCCC focal point, providing the Daring Cities community with the full picture.
