“We’re worried about the wildfire, the high temperatures that we’re seeing. And climate data is really important to help monitor these changes.” In Northern BC, three First Nations Guardians programs are teaming up with BC Climatologists to help bridge major gaps in understanding climate change across the region.

This summer, the Dane Nan Yḗ Dāh, Tāłtān, and Taku River Tlingit Guardians installed climate stations that will not only help explain changes in weather patterns, but also inform better policies and approaches to wildlife protections by collecting data that show impacts on salmon and caribou migrations.
