Rabies is a concern when bitten by a bat.

If a bite occurs it is appropriate and important to capture the bat for testing.

There is a high likelihood the bat won't test positive for rabies. Capturing the bat and getting it tested at the local health department can save you the trouble and expense of getting treatment for rabies. But, without the bat, you'll need to get treatment.

If bitten, capture the bat.
