I’m thrilled to have you join me for a cozy autumn vlog as we dive into the beginning of fall here in England and all the delightful changes it brings.

In this relaxing video, we’re embracing the season with open arms. I’ll take you along as I transform our cozy kitchen into a warm, inviting space, perfect for celebrating cosy autumn. We’ll be preparing for fall with a touch of nature-inspired decor, creating woodland-themed decorations for our kitchen windowsill to adding natural decor elements, it’s all about bringing a bit of the outdoors inside and making our home feel snug and inviting; including adding some beautiful ferns, mushrooms and moss that really enhance the coziness of our autumn setup.

One of the highlights of our cozy day is baking cookies! I’ll show you how I make perfect no-spread cut-out leaf shape cookies (check-out the full recipe below), that are wonderful for fall. And of course, we’ll be doing all this while enjoying the calming ASMR sounds of the kitchen.

Throughout the vlog, you’ll also get a taste of the ever-changing British weather in September. We’ll experience a bit of the changeable British weather firsthand, adding a charming backdrop to our cozy indoor activities. Plus, you’ll see my adorable cats enjoying their time in the garden, adding a playful touch to our slow living vlog. Charming September cottage garden.

Ingredients:
480g flour
227g unsalted butter
200g sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla extract

- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix butter (room temperature), caster sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, and mix well.
- Divide the dough into two portions.
- Roll it out flat, wrap it in cling film, and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours.
Chilling helps the dough hold its shape during baking (the soften butter has to harden again, that's what making the no-spread cookies hold its shape).
- Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and transfer them to the prepared baking sheets.
- If you feel that your cookies got a little bit warm underneath your palms, then put them back into the fridge to harden the butter again.
- Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 5-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Baking time depends on how thick you will roll out your dough. The centers should still be soft but set.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once the cookies are completely cool, you can decorate them with your favorite royal icing, fondant, or simple melted chocolate and nuts, just like I did with the acorn-shaped cookies.

Tips: For Best Results: Ensure your butter is properly softened but not melted. If the dough becomes too warm while working with it, chill it again. Cookie Cutters: For clean shapes, dip your cookie cutters in flour before cutting out the dough.
