My name is “Wingit” and I am attempting an Appalachian Trail 2024 Thru Hike - without much of a plan, in fact, I am Winging it along the way. Here is another day I am grateful to share with everyone.

Today I got to hike the first portion of Virginia Triple Crown of views - Dragons Tooth; in typical Wingit fashion, I didn’t plan very well so I didn’t realize it was a Blue Blaze. I hiked right on past it and down the difficult rock face just north of the sight. Unfortunately, the Universe didn’t want me to experience this first hand. Probably because I definitely would have climbed to the top, so maybe, someone was looking out for me on this day. I could have turned around and went back up to see it but I took it as a sign I wasn’t supposed to, not on this day at least.

I also crossed the 700 Mile mark today, and when I say mark, it’s merely some sticks in the trail formed in a pattern of 700. I slack packed from Trout Creek to Four Pines Hostel and picked up my pack and hiked on close to McAfee Knob. Somewhere near a 17 mile Day.
