The Blue Mountains, named for their color when seen from a distance, occupy about 15,000 square miles in the southeast corner of Washington and the northeast corner of Oregon, for camping at elevation in the heat of the summer. While boondocking in Umatilla National Forest near where Lewis and Clark's Corps of Discovery passed through the area, in this week's Grand Adventure we visit the nearby farming town of Pomeroy, check out Palouse Falls State Park, and examine the region's wheat production, including a visit to a unique, intact turn-of-the-century water powered flour mill with a restaurant where you'll never receive a bill for your meal.
