I got a new wheelset, and want to keep them as dent free as I can. So I made some ghetto tyre inserts out of closed cell backing rod. Normally this stuff is used for filling voids between concrete slabs. It's strong, waterproof and easy to use. It also works out at $8 per wheel, so there's no cheaper insert on the market, if you don't mind a little DIY.
