Katarina Witt won the gold medal at Sarajevo 1984 at the age of 18 years and 77 days, making her one of the youngest ever Olympic figure skating champions. Witt landed three triple jumps in her free skate program. In the long program, Witt won by one-tenth of a point on one judge's scorecard.
