Setting the timing and points on a 1965 Evinrude 9.5 hp SportTwin outboard motor. Setting the timing on this motor is a relatively simple procedure, however I am not 100% confident that I am setting it to the proper place. When I set the timing in the past, I believe I set it incorrectly, which led to some of the starting issues as the spark would already be rather advanced relative to throttle position. In this video I re-set the timing on this motor, and so far it seems to be quite happy. I will update with any changes once I get a change to run longer and under varying load conditions.
