This video was filmed in the morning of October 2023 at the Higashiyama Zoo & Botanical Gardens, Nagoya, Japan. Please note that it contains some shaky clips. In the video, the troop is waiting for the door to their indoor room to open. Kiyomasa and Annie are playing in the tower. Nene walks past Shabani. She looks so fine. Kiyomasa beats his chest several times. The gorillas were a little bit restless. Nene was hit by Shabani and Kiyomasa, but I was impressed to see how briskly Nene could move as a 52-year-old gorilla. The family moves to the west-side entrance. Kiyomasa stares at Shabani, and Shabani tells him to stop. They are watching the movements of their keeper carefully. Everyone comes out of the indoor room in the west, and the gate closes. Shabani gets some treats from his keeper. They move to the main gate. Kiyomasa plays with a vegetable. He juggles a turnip. Ai is standing by at the threshold. Then Kiyomasa rushes toward Ai. When the door opens, Kiyo enters first, followed by Ai, Shabani, and Annie. Annie removes someone's poop before entering. Nene enters last. The management techniques of the keepers at Higashiyama Zoo are amazing, compared to other zoos in Japan. It’s pretty obvious that the keepers are working hard to ensure the gorillas don't get bored, by carefully planning their daily schedule. Furthermore, Nene, who is the oldest gorilla in Japan, still possesses beautiful, shiny, thick fur, and her motor skills seem to be in good shape. It proves her well-being is well cared for.
