In this video I’m making a Sulphric acid stripping cell to recover gold from plated items . CPUS, watch parts and pins . The Sulphric acid will be the electrolyte in the cell , the copper anode basket will not be attacked while holding the gold plated items .
The gold is stripped, flows from the anode to the lead cathode . The gold particles fall to the bottom of the cell. The Sulphric acid can be reused after separating the solids . I would like to thank Martijn from GRF for all the help.
Problems : the cell needs to be covered when not in use to keep the moisture level down. So this design may need to be changed ,
If You do this, you do so at your own risk. I assume no responsibility for your actions
Thanks for watching
If you have any suggestions or an idea on running this cell please feel free to leave a comment
