I wanted to share my thoughts on what Sonic Team has been missing for a while.
Sonic The Hedgehog is in trouble. Sonic has been in a loop of mediocrity for the past 10 years after the success of Sonic Generations. This happens because sonic team has been making games that play it too safe like Sonic Forces or introduces gimmicks that can hinder a game experience like Sonic Lost World. Now Sonic has recently gotten a new game announced called Sonic Frontiers (which has been leaked) which apparently has the same developers as in Sonic Forces, Sonic Generations, Sonic Lost World, and Sonic Colors with a new game on the way I'm cautiously optimistic because Sonic Team have been developing games and they just aren't as good as sonic games before generations. There are a number of factors that cause this Takashi Iizuka losing his touch over the years, lack of playable characters, classic sonic being shoehorned in, and laughable stories for all the wrong reasons. I think the worst part is fans make better games like Christian Whitehead with Sonic Mania I just hope that Sega and Sonic Team can truly make something great with Frontiers but only time will tell.
