In this Building a House From Start to Finish Episode we design the front of our home, or more known as the elevation of our custom home. We believe this is a relatively simple home design. The house is a 2,800 square foot ranch, mountain home. We will be building this home in the woods on our 3 acre lot. The elevation design will be comprised of stone, board and batten, shake shingles, and brick. The interior home design will be a split ranch with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths with a walk out basement. After weeks of designing our home we believe we came up with the best home design for us! After designing our home, we submit our new building permit application to the county. We review the house permit and application process (including engineer plot plans, staking, wetlands, and HOA). Finally once we receive our building permit, we call in a local land clearing business to get the lot cleared for the new house.
