Getting some much-needed maintenance done on my Powerwall & the farm powerwall. The first 80p pack I looked at was about 2 years of service and had an NCR18650 that had gone bad this surprised me no end as they are known within the community as extremely good cells and in fact was my first cell that was a heater cell and not a Sanyo!

The second battery was one I built around a year ago but only was put into daily service on the farm 4-6 months ago. Turns out it was a Sanyo heater cell causing the pack to self-discharge.

Both faulty cells were disconnected by not removed. Being zero volt they pose no risk anymore and the reward for effort just wasn't there to replace them.

The discharger/charger I use is the iCharger X6 - https://goo.gl/GtBtW9 & is just a workhorse of powerwall builds can highly recommend the little units. Also, use this cheap little Clamp Tester -- https://goo.gl/z8b4uJ to double-check voltage and current. Another tool that has stood the test of time in my workshop.
