I got this showerhead in a chrome finish. The diameter of the showerhead is 5” and the overall length 10.5” with the handle being 5” long. The unit is made of durable but lightweight ABS plastic and feels comfortable and ergonomic in the hand. At the back is a thumb activated switch for turning on the jet sprayer at the tip. Around the face of the sprayer is a thumb tab that rotates left and right to change between the 9 water spray patterns. Each mode will utilize specific spray nozzles embedded in the face of the unit, whether that’s the small nozzles around the outer perimeter, the clustered nozzles in the second ring, cone nozzles in the third ring, high-pressure misters in the middle, wide nozzles, or a combination of these.

The water inlet at the base of the handle has ½ inch male threads for attaching to a standard shower hose, which is not included. There’s a pressure regulator filter is pre-installed but removable if desired. To install, simply attach your existing handheld shower hose to the end of the Bostinger wand. In most cases, you can simply hand tighten, without the need for Plumber’s Teflon tape as the washer in the hose will ensure a leak-free connection.

The different spray patterns are, starting from the far left: pulsating massage, soft mist, power mist, rain massage, normal rain, waterfall, extra-wide rain, and an off position which attempts to restrict the flow of water, though depending on your water pressure there may be some minimal dripping, which is normal.

To activate the front jet, click the button on the back of the wand and it will switch to a powerful wide and flat spray from the tip, useful for cleaning the shower, tub, or other things that may require power washing. The wand will remain locked in this mode, regardless of which setting the front face is set to, including the water-saving “off” mode; press down on the other end of the switch to exit this mode and return to normal shower operation. Shutting off the water will also automatically toggle this mode off. When not using handheld, the wand can be placed in a holder and used like a regular mounted showerhead.

As for the showering experience, most folks will probably be most comfortable with the rain or extra-wide rain, which is a fairly standard water pattern. The pressure is firm but not sharp and it has pretty good coverage. Just be careful not to squeeze on the trigger at the back by accident or the jet will activate! The waterfall setting was probably my least favorite, since the stream is only wide about 4-6 away from the wand and farther away becomes a narrow jet. Rain massage mode was okay, but didn’t produce a very strong spray as to feel like a massage. Power mist is the highest-pressure setting with a really strong and forceful spray. It can also sting a bit if you put the jets too close to your skin and since the water droplets are small and widely distributed, you may feel a noticeable drop in the water temperature. The soft mist was a nicer, gentler spray, while pulsating massage was fine, but didn’t produce a very distinct pulsating pattern, at least not that I noticed. I also like the sweeper jet at the end of the wand because it makes it easy to power wash and rinse your tub and shower at the press of a button.

Overall, this handheld showerhead sprayer wand is quite nice for the price. It feels well-made, installs quickly and easily without any leaks, and has a number of water and spray patterns to choose from including a powerful front jet sprayer.
