An Air Canada Boeing 777-333ER (C-FIUV), operating flight ACA872 from Toronto Pearson International Airport to Paris Charles de Gaulle, experienced an in-flight emergency shortly after takeoff. Air traffic control notified the crew of visible fire on the aircraft's right side. The flight crew declared a PAN-PAN, reported an engine power reduction on the right engine (due to what seemed to be an engine compressor stall), and made the decision to return to Toronto. The aircraft safely landed on runway 23 and remained there for inspection by emergency personnel.
