I recently rewatched the new 4k dvd of Ran. And I've probably seen this movie like 8 times by this point, probably more. it's easily one of my favorite movies of all time. I know some people find it slow, but i don't at all. And for some reason I can just keep watching it. I try to watch it once a year. And as I've stated in a previous video, I think it's the most beautiful film ever. and if any movie deserved a 4k remaster it was definitely this. But when I watched it this time, it had me wondering what the film was really all about. What's it's overall message. It seems very bleak and hopeless and that's not really something I advocate for. I want actual meaning in my stories and a reason to keep on fighting. But i think this film's mysterious message is more so about it's legendary director Akira Kurosawa.
