The Great Red Spot on the planet Jupiter is the largest storm on any planet in the entire solar system, in the past it was even bigger than now. The sheer depth of it is hard to grasp. To give you an idea, it’s like having around 45 Mariana Trenches stacked on top of each other!

On Earth, hurricanes quickly lose their strength when moving over land, but on Jupiter, there is no land, and so there isn’t any friction to slow down the massive storm. It has been raging for centuries, but it looks like something strange is happening to the Great Red Spot.
