Last September, I came back from my home city back to the island with a enormous thirst of the ocean, so I went to my swimming spot in a calm day of the sea. The wave gentle as cradle and water crystal clear, toned with greenish blue. Under the water I was astonished by the scene I saw. Schools of tiny fish was all over around, each group seemed to have their own orientation, and each individual linked by an invisible thread. They moved like rhythms as if there was an orchestra of the sea, and each group of them plays a different melody in the marine symphony. I lost myself just watching the movements of the schools and the reflection of their tiny body, I felt like I'm inside of a blue universe, surrounded by countless stars, stars of lives, floating around me. I didn't want to scare them with my humanness in this peaceful day, so I blew out my idea of swimming into bubbles, and just hovered and moved slowly, just to feel I'm part of them. Then on thought kicked in: " what a pity that I don't have a Go-pro, I would to memorize this moment"

This impulse didn't go away, and I still have no money to get that cam.

So here we go again, maker's solution to all the problems, make it yourself.

First I thought I'm going to make a collage, but I soon realize, gluing layers of paper into a flat surface doesn't convey the spaciousness i experienced in the sea. So I thought of making a paper box to hang the figure in the middle of the depth. But it didn't turned out so strong and the touch was a bit too light/ cheap... on the other hand, I didn't figure out yet how to interpret the school of glittering fish. In brief, my first attempt was paused during to the problems above, and the un-finished work had been sitting on my desk for couples of months, until I found some little led lights in the dollar shop, that may be the missing piece of the project.

Whereas how to do the box, I went for the thin veneer wood and see how it goes.
