It was perhaps the steam locomotive event in England. On May 10, 2024, 7029 "Clun Castle" traveled with a special train from Birmingham to Plymouth. Between Bristol and Plymouth, three climbs had to be mastered with great noise. On the return journey on May 11, 2024, the fourth steepest route on the British State Railways had to be overcome, the "Hemerdon Bank".
The motivated locomotive crew even wanted to beat the travel times from the scheduled service on this journey, but things turned out differently....
