Steps away from the glittering lights of the Vegas chiming of slot machines, lies the oldest standing structure and the birthplace of the city of Las Vegas. The Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort, the first permanent, non-native settlement in the Las Vegas Valley, features the #historical remains of an adobe fort built by Mormon missionaries along a spring-fed creek in 1855. After their departure, the fort site played a crucial role in the growth of Las Vegas. Today it’s home to a #museum and #park that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the early #history of Las Vegas.
Take a #tour with me as we explore the Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort!
