This video is for anyone trying to diagnose a clicking or tapping noise with the rear hub while riding your hybrid bike. I couldn't trace the source of the intermittent noise so had to take my bike back to bike man. A versatile and experienced bike mechanic who has fixed hundreds of bikes and is better equipped to fix any faulty or worn parts.
In conversation you will get tips and pointers on how to diagnose and fix the issues which in this case were due to the inner race loose in the rear hub plus worn bearings causing increased friction in the bike's back wheel.
The hub inner race required fixing to the hub with two part epoxy; it would have been a tight push fit but it had lateral movement within the hub causing the clicking sound.
This video also covers servicing the hub, brakes, wheel bearing tightening and wheel truing including spoke tension checking. Other points discussed are Inner and outer race repair, bearing service and bearing replacement. Spokes and magnetism are covered including handy tip using a magnet to check for stainless or carbon steel spoke material.
