In Episode 4 we showed you what a sweep is and how you should position your kayak and canoe to best reach and exit a sweep in white water.

In this episode we will now look at three basic techniques for negotiating sweep water: with support readiness, often also called "paddle support", with bow stroke as well as by means of draw stroke (static). All three techniques have their justification in white water - but what the differences are and which technique is best when - that's what we'll go into in this video, so that you can reach your next sweep in the best possible way. I.e. efficient and therefore energy-saving, so that you can hit your "paddle lines" in white water in a more relaxed way. With these techniques, you will be able to master both easy white water and difficult white water.
