In this case my problem was a little deeper. The nut on the stem broke off. And aluminum corroded so a new nut could not be threaded in place. If the nut is in place, the tire just slides over the sensor. But as you will see, here the tire pulls the sensor with it. Suggestion is, to do this a bit to the side from the stem.
