Google just gave us a better way for measuring our success!

And it fixes a problem lots of us have had.

Conversions are the best thing in analytics.

They tell you when a visitor has done what you want them to on your website.

Like buying something, filling in a quote form, subscribing to your email list, making an enquiry.

And you can track those conversions back to your marketing.

They tell you if Instagram is worth it, if your blog posts make people want to buy.

They tell you if your website is working.

But there's a problem...

When I look at my analytics I'm seeing too many conversions.

I see a single user is triggering the same conversion over and over again, which just doesn’t make sense.

It looks like one person subscribed to my email list 4 times in one session.

Why does this happen?

I can guess it's:

☞ Someone refreshing the page
☞ Someone using the back or forward button on their browser
☞ Someone taking the same action over and over

Whatever the reason, I don't want to see that one user triggered my email list conversion 4 times in one visit to my website.

I just wanna know that they turned into an email list subscriber.

Sooo annoying...

But Google just fixed this 🎉
