The worm gear broke on my main forge’s hand crank blower, so I decided to give this mini forge a try.

It worked - the forge definitely gets up to welding temperature, the main issue is obviously the size. It’s a bit difficult to maneuver the steel, remove slag build-up, etc., but the experiment overall was successful.

I wouldn’t recommend this as a main forge or anything, but if you’ve got one and have been wanting to give it a shot, or can’t afford a larger forge, it may be worth checking out.
