DIY step-by-step, how to change the rear brake pads and rotors on a 2000 Acura 3.2 TL in less than an hour. Front brakes generally wear out sooner than rear brakes as they do more of the braking. The rear brakes on this car last about twice as long as the front brakes.

This car now has 624,303 miles.
The rear brake pads had 176,800 miles before changing them today.

The parking brake shoes should last a million miles, unless you drive with your parking brake on. I have never needed to change my parking brake shoes.

You may have noticed that I previously removed the splash guards behind the rotors to try to help with the brake cooling. This can affect braking in the rain. But it rarely rains where I live and is extremely hot instead.

My next video will show how to clean and reseat the brake caliper piston and rubber boot, plus bleeding the brake fluid using a vacuum pump.
I did not want this video to be too long.

Parts from AutoZone:
Duralast Gold Ceramic DG536 rear brake pads. One box includes both left rear and right rear pads. No lube included in box. Large top spring hardware for caliper is not included in box.
These pads have a lifetime wear guarantee, with free replacement. This free replacement saved me $55 + sales tax. These pads are low dust and long life.

Duralast 31316DG Rear Brake Rotors. $64.49 each + sales tax.
Left and right rotors are both the same, but you need to buy two boxes of rotors.
These rotors have a 3-year guarantee.
(I noticed these steel rotors are made in China for AutoZone.)

Brake Clean spray can.

Tube of Silicone brake lube.

Tools I used:
Hydraulic floor jack
2 jack stands
2 wheel chocks/blocks
19mm socket
