The inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of Fisheries projects worth ₹1200 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) and the Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund (FIDF) took place on August 30, 2024. These projects include the establishment of the Integrated Aqua Park at Tarin, Ziro, in the Lower Subansiri District, with an estimated budget of ₹4359.04 lakh.The event was graced by the presence of several notable dignitaries. The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, led the inauguration, accompanied by Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lallan Singh, the Union Minister of Panchayati Raj, and Professor S.P. Singh Baghel, Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying. Additionally, Shri Gabriel D. Wangsu, the Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Fisheries, Civil Supply, and Legal Metrology of Arunachal Pradesh, was present. Local representatives, including Er. Hage Appa, MLA of the 17 Ziro-Hapoli (ST) Assembly Constituency, and Shri Toko Tatung, MLA of the 16 Yachuli (ST) Assembly Constituency, also participated in the ceremony.These projects are expected to significantly enhance the fisheries sector in the region, contributing to economic growth and livelihood opportunities for local communities.
