“The Bear” is an FX and Hulu original comedy-drama series created by Christopher Storer. The series follows a young chef from the world of fine dining as he comes home to Chicago to run his family's Italian beef sandwich shop. It was inspired by the real-life Chicago shop Mr. Beef, even creating a replica of the shop’s interior for the show. Series creator, Christopher Storer, was a frequent patron of the shop growing up and is friends with the owner’s son. Season 1 of The Bear premiered on Hulu June 23, 2022, and stars Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliott, Edwin Lee Gibson, Matty Matheson and more. The season was a breakout success receiving a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a Golden Globe & SAG Award win for Jeremy Allen White as well as 13 nominations at the upcoming 75th Primetime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Comedy Series and acting nominations for Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Jon Bernthal and Oliver Platt.
