सिकंदरा आगरा से चार किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। यहाँ का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण स्थान अकबर का मकबरा है। इसका निर्माण कार्य स्‍वयं अकबर ने शुरु करवाया था। यह मकबरा हिंदू, ईसाई, इस्‍लामिक, बौद्ध और जैन कला का सर्वोत्‍तम मिश्रण है। लेकिन इसके पूरा होने से पहले ही अकबर की मृत्‍यु हो गई। बाद में उनके पुत्र जहांगीर ने इसे पूरा करवाया। जहांगीर ने मूल योजना में कई परिवर्तन किए। इस इमारत को देखकर पता चलता है कि मुगल कला कैसे विकसित हुई। दिल्‍ली में हुमायूं का मकबरा, फिर अकबर का मकबरा और अंतत: ताजमहल, मुगलकला निरंतर विकसित होती रही।
सिकंदरा का नाम सिकंदर लोदी के नाम पर पड़ा। मकबरे के चारों कोनों पर तीन मंजिला मीनारें हैं। ये मीनारें लाला पत्‍थर से बनी हैं जिन पर संगमरमर का सुंदर काम किया गया है। मकबरे के चारों ओर खूबसूरत बगीचा है जिसके बीच में बरादी महल है जिसका निर्माण सिकंदर लोदी ने करवाया था। सिकंदरा से आगरा के बीच में अनेक मकबरे हैं और दो कोस मीनार भी हैं। पांच मंजिला इस मकबरे की खूबसूरती आज भी बरकरार है।

Sikandra is located at a distance of four kilometers from Agra. The most important place here is the tomb of Akbar. Its construction was started by Akbar himself. This mausoleum is the best blend of Hindu, Christian, Islamic, Buddhist and Jain art. But Akbar died before its completion. Later his son Jahangir got it completed. Jahangir made several changes to the original plan. Seeing this building shows how Mughal art developed. Humayun's tomb in Delhi, then Akbar's tomb and finally the Taj Mahal, Mughal art continued to develop.
Sikandra was named after Alexander Lodi. There are three storied towers at the four corners of the mausoleum. These towers are made of Lala stone, on which beautiful marble work has been done. There is a beautiful garden around the mausoleum, in the middle of which is the Baradi Mahal, which was built by Alexander Lodi. There are many mausoleums between Sikandra to Agra and two Kos Minarets. The beauty of this five-storied mausoleum remains intact even today.
