!!!CLICKBAIT!!!

Episode 8 of the micro-vlog is your ticket to join me during my favorite step in the painting process.

Its time to finish the color and PEEL OFF THE STENCIL!!!!

Please stay tuned for episode 9 where I paint a simple landscape start-to-finish.

The "just a minute" vlog series has been so cool for me in that it has been a perfect "starter vehicle" - a bike with training wheels.

Because of the short one minute length, I never really got bogged down with shooting or editing. Going thru the process of creating a bunch of shorts from start to finish, you quickly face all of the hidden steps - and there are many.

For me, as an artist, the joy and satisfaction from this new (to me) medium, comes from placing myself uncomfortably at the bottom, or beginning. What I mean by that is when you feel the pull of a new activity or a new process, or when experimenting with a new medium - the scary parts of not being good, or not knowing how do do it completely, or not having all of the best tools can, obviously be scary.

On the other hand, these parts can be electrifying, exhilarating, and very satisfying when you get better at them. As you get better at scary parts, you become proud that the thing you just made actually looks kind of like it did when it was inside your head.

Its this feeling of joy, satisfaction, pride, whatever that you can convert to momentum and carry on with the next project.

From one project to the next, confidence builds and before you know it, you're pretty good at something that was once scary and finally, you start to hear you voice. This is the goal. (write that down).

The timelapsed vlog allowed me to learn the basics of setup, lighting, shooting, editing, storing, and uploading without the need to worry about talking to the camera and telling a story.

Now that I have the basics down, its time to step out of this temporary comfort zone and start talking to the camera. This will lead to longer videos which will lead to new things to master and of course, new satisfactions.

Learning new skills is a way to plant future joys. Thank you micro-vlog :)

Thanks for watching!!!
