The electric bicycles world is far more diverse and varied than even the electric car world, with e-bikes available for seemingly every type of cyclist out there.

But for the most part, the majority of people considering an e-bike opt to buy a low-cost, budget-oriented e-bike, often made with sub-par components, cheaply-made battery packs with no thermal or battery management, and terrible quality control.

These bikes, while affordable at the outset, often put people off spending more money on e-bikes, and leave people cold to the idea that e-bikes might be a good car replacement.

But U.S. company Fuell - founded by Erik Buell of Harley Davidson fame, Frédéric Vasseur and François-Xavier Terny, set out to something different: offer a range of e-bikes that surpassed others in the marketplace, packing them with high-quality components, technology, and claimed ranges that would make some electric cars weep.

With price tags pushing that of a used electric car, the Fuell Flluid 2S and Fuell Fluid 3S aren't exactly cheap - and that gave us pause for concern. But having tried these two ultra-long-range bikes out for ourselves, we think there might be a case for ditching the car and going two-wheel for the daily commute... at least, in some circumstances.
