Bessey was kind enough to send me a few accessories for my K Body REVOs so I thought I’d take a moment to show you how to attach their K Body extender as well as show you how I maintain and keep my k body bars free from glue but before we get to that I would like to thank you for stopping by to watch this video and if you’re new to the channel and liked what you saw here please be sure to hit that like and subscribe button before you go. So with that being said….let’s begin.

The REVO extender weighs in at around a pound and a half and is machined out of a single piece of aluminum or aluminum depending on where you’re located. The included pads are friction fit and are quite easy to install.

You can see the machined profile in the extender itself won’t allow you to insert the bar from the top…you’ll need to…In order to secure the extender to your REVOs…you’ll need to take them apart. It’s not difficult and the process is rather quick. I’m using 2 12” REVOs for this demo because…well…they are easier to manage for this sort of thing.

Now some may fight with putting the sliding jaw back on the bar. The easiest way for me to do that is to lift the handle and once I feel it grab the bar, I lower the handle and slide it on.Removing all the hardware from the extender can be done in less than 20 seconds and requires no tools…the ones I received didn’t require any at least. With everything in pieces…now would be a good time to show you how everything goes together...

Now I like to keep my clamps clean and free from debris…that doesn’t meant I don’t use them. Every new and not-so new clamp in my shop gets the same treatment. To clean the bar…I’ll splash a little denatured alcohol on a fairly clean microfiber towel and completely wipe the bar down to remove and dirt or grime. You’ll notice that there’s no glue on the bar whatsoever…I’ll get to that in a few.For a little added protection I use some spray wax on 98% of the clamps surfaces. This step makes future cleanings much easier and quicker. I’ve been doing this step for years and not once have I had a clamp slip on me from applying this sort of wax to the bar.

My last step is to look at the acme thread on the handle…I’ll clean the threads if they’re dirty up but honestly 9 times out of 10 all I need to do is add a drop oil to keep the handle action running smooth. After that it’s a matter of putting the clamp back together and covering it in glue for my next demo.Painters tape will be your best friend when keeping glue off your bar. However…you’ll notice that I don’t stick the tape to the sides like some. It’s angled like the roof of a house. That’s what you want that. The angle of the tapes keeps the from coming in contact with your bar and that’s why I have no glue on the top, sides, or bottom of my REVOs. So now that I’ve shared a few tips…lets get back to making a large clamp with the REVO extender. In closing…I feel the extenders are a great option if you don’t have the storage for longer clamps in your shop. For instance if you take 2 50” REVOs and an extender…you can easily have yourself a clamp that’s over 103” long in less than two minute and when you’re done with it…that set up comes apart just as quick. So you don’t have to worry about storing a clamp that’s over 8’ feet long in your shop.

Now I always try to find something I don’t like about a tool or an accessory so I don’t seem biased towards the company but honestly I’ve got nothing on Bessey’s K Body REVO extender. It’s a quality bit of kit at a price that won’t break the bank plus it just works. Now if you’d like more info on the extender or REVOs or just want to see what else Bessey has to offer please visit Bessey tools dot com. I would like to thank you for watching and until next time take care and have a good one.
