Hey guys! In this video I give a detailed overview of how I controlled the steering to my remote control go kart. I basically used a linear actuator for the drive motor, and a small servo potentiometer for the position sensing. An Arduino was used to control its PID loop, and could read the potentiometer value, as well as output to the motor driver. Thanks for watching!
Parts:
IBT-2 43A DC Double Stepper Motor Driver (can be used for non stepper motors as well)
DasMarine 2" Stroke Linear Actuator with Mounting Bracket 225 lbs.
Arduino Nano
Servo potentiometer
