Revisiting Sipadan Island, on the east coast of Sabah in Malaysia, mainly to have a chance to catch some decent quality footage of a Chevron Barracuda 'Tornado'.

In the end, we weren't as lucky this time as we were back in Nov 2018, but it's nevertheless always nice to dive around Sipadan Island.

In fact, after speaking with some DM's, we learnt that it's been harder to spot such 'Barracuda Tornados' at Sipadan since after Covid19, so it seems that something may have permanently changed. A new generation of Barracuda preferring to hang around somewhere else, where there are less humans, perhaps? I can only speculate..

Anyway, to have a slightly better 'Tornado' chance, we may still revisit once more, but, if so, it'll be in Apr-May timeframe. Which should also bring somewhat better visibility than we had on this trip. Let's see how it goes.

Next dive trip now planned for Apr 2024, to Sogod Bay in Philippines, to hopefully experience natural encounters with Whale Sharks.

Cheers!
