Jangchung-dong is an area that borders Toegye-ro to the north and extends to Namsan Park to the south. There are Jangchungdan Park and Namsan Park within the jurisdiction, so a large part of it is made up of green areas.

Around Jangchungdan Park, there are public facilities such as Jangchung Gymnasium and the National Theater, as well as luxury hotels such as Seoul Shilla Hotel, Banyan Tree Club and Spa Seoul, and Ambassador Seoul Pullman. Jangchung Gymnasium was the first indoor gymnasium in Korea, representing Korea before the Olympic Stadium was built in Jamsil.

The Jangchung-dong detached house complex is also considered a first-generation traditional rich village. Since the 1960s, the homes of businessmen, including the owners of the Pan-Samsung family, have been located.

Samsung Group founder Lee Byung-chul, the late Hyundai Group founder Chung Ju-yung, the late founder Yoo Han-yang, the only founder, Lee Im-ryong, chairman of Taekwang Industrial Co., and the late chairman of Korea Electric Wire Co., lived here. Currently, large luxury houses and one-room villas were mixed.
