Shaker doors — Mike may never want to look at another one ever again after this build. He had to produce 27 of them which reflects on the impressive amount of storage in this house as well. The great thing about cabinetry and their doors means you get to see a lot of finishing of this build and the house looks real purdy like. Not long to go!

Years in the making, we (Heidi and Mike) researched, discussed and changed our lifestyle in preparation to "go tiny". -- Please follow our journey from humble beginnings in a tent through to our final grand tiny house build in our ex-refrigerated semi-trailer.

With no building experience, we ventured into the dark and fronted every challenge including difficult weather, budget constraints, minimising our lifestyle, needing to learn a mountain of new trades, a pandemic and much more.

If you are keen to see the entire experience, begin with Episode 1 and find out about our early challenges and innovations. There is no episode 4 in case you’re wondering! Episode 21 is not part of the “build” but is a tour of our second temporary accommodation in the second trailer we get called “P2” (where “P1” is the house we are building).

If you’d like to jump straight into the tiny house building, that begins at Episode 6. Episode numbering is sketchy early on so there is no Episode 7 or 11.

I hope you enjoy the series. Having a video production background, I tried to edit them in an entertaining way but bear in mind my first focus was building and not filming a documentary, so sometimes there is a lot of me talking! But I hope you find it engaging nonetheless!

Following on from the build, we will be releasing regular content that discusses minimalist living in greater detail, shows some of the features of our house plus talks about helpful considerations for building in a semi-trailer as a home. We’ll also be connecting with friends who live this way, talk about legalities, discuss the perks of tiny house living and more as the channel grows.
