Our thoughts about the national heritage took us to a cosy place right in the heart of Yerevan where recently we have explored the heritage of an Armenian notable painter Marcos Grigoryan.
If we put together all traveling experience of three of us, we can say that we have been to two dozen museums of 6 countries, but we have never met in any place such an impressive and unique collection as Marcos Grigoryan’s Armenian carpets. Certainly, his mission was soil art. This very way to his land helped Marcos Grigoryan to reach the stone iconography widely-known in Armenian Highlands through the art of Urartian or Araratian kingdom. Marcos Grigoryan finds this experience a key to emphasise his form. Now we have taken that key to open all the doors in Europe and tell about Marcos Grigoryan’s carpets, another universal heritage.
So, this is our Urartian journey!
