As requested, today we’re continuing our run-on Dune with an exploration of the Honored Matres.

A splinter group of the Bene Gesserit who had disappeared during The Scattering, the Honored Matres are ruthless and powerful, carrying a dark and violent version of the Bene Gesserit's manipulation techniques. Their return from the Scattering heralds a time of upheaval and change.

The existing power structures of the Old Empire are tested and often brutally suppressed as they swiftly and decisively take control. Their rise isn't just a shift in the balance of power; it's a shockwave that disrupts the established order of the universe.

But who are these mysterious, violent women, and what caused them to become such a potent and disruptive force? To answer that, we'll need to delve into their origins, their beliefs, abilities, history and the circumstances that shaped them into the power-hungry group we meet in the series.

In this video, we’re going to explore the short story, the film which follows directly after, in addition to the entity and ending of the narrative.
