Farukhnagar, an old forgotten town in Haryana(India) was our impromptu destination to visit. We made this cinematic video on the multi-storied stepwell which is the pride of Farukhnagar to show that India has a remarkable position because of magnificent places that are famous as tourist destinations. We wanted to explore, inspire and spread knowledge about the lesser-known places to appreciate our country’s beauty and spread awareness of the importance of tourism. One of the hidden gems that we found was the queen’s baoli there. We wanted to bring out the stories that were left unsaid. The Gol Baoli in Farukhnagar is in octagonal shape from inside and round shape from outside. From the top floor you can have a panoramic view of the town. Once a king’s town, now forgotten. It needs to be revived. It is 30 kms from Gurugram but to most people it is unheard of. It was once a flourishing town due to it’s salt trade which was abondened in 20th century. We tried to capture the pieces of history in our camera and headed back home with memories of a forgotten chapter. Indeed, almost every baori has a story to tell.
