After an incredible 40 years of serving as senior pastor at the Pioneer Memorial Church on the Campus of Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, Pastor Dwight Nelson preached his farewell-sermon on Sabbath, May 20, 2023. Just a few minutes into his sermon, as he was struggling to keep his composure delivering his emotional farewell-message, a young man suffering from down-syndrome walked up to the podium and stood next to Dwight Nelson, hugging him and providing comfort to him. This was a very beautiful, touching scene, and Dwight found just the right words to show his deep appreciation of this very kind gesture of this young man. I will never forget this scene!

Unfortunately, the scene was cut out and omitted in the edited, official version of the sermon under the title "Any Old Bush Will Do" (   • Any Old Bush Will Do  ). But there's actually nothing to be ashamed about in this scene. To the contrary, it's a beautiful testimony to the courage of people who are not ashamed to openly show their compassion and empathy for other people.
