शामली जिले में विद्युत निगम की तरफ से लगाए जा रहे स्मार्ट मीटर को लेकर किसानों में आक्रोश पैदा हो गया। ज़िले के किसान स्मार्ट मीटर का लगातार विरोध कर रहे हैं। 24 सितंबर 2024 को ज़िला शामली के गांव टिटौली बिजली घर में किसानों ने स्मार्ट मीटर का भारी विरोध किया। किसानों का कहना है कि अगर तीन दिनों के अंदर स्मार्ट बिजली मीटर नही हटाएं तो हम ख़ुद ही इन मीटर को उखाड़ फेकेंगे।

Farmers across the district are consistently protesting against these smart meters. On September 24, 2024, farmers strongly opposed the smart meters at the Titoli power station in the Shamli district. The farmers stated that if the smart meters are not removed within three days, they will take matters into their own hands and uproot the meters themselves.
