Making the best Chow Mein at home! The cheapest noodle dish ever! But better than take out!

Chow Mein is a popular Chinese stir-fried noodles dish. The name “Chow Mein” translates to “fried noodles”. These are my favorite noodles, not just because they are so delicious, but also because of all the hidden vegetables. If you have tried making Chow Mein at home and ended up with a mushy mess instead, this recipe is for you. With a few basic tips and tricks, you’ll be making Chow Mein as good (or even better) than your go-to takeout place. Make sure your ingredients are ready, and the sauce is mixed before you start cooking. The main cooking happens very quickly. Then you'll have a perfect stir fry vegetable noodles .

INGREDIENTS (3 servings):
180g Noodles (I use egg noodles)
1/2 small cabbage ~ 182g
5-6 green onions/spring onions
1 carrots ~ 100g after peel
3 tbsp oil
— Chow Mein sauce—
1 Tablespoon light soy sauce
1 Tablespoon dark soy sauce
1 Tablespoon oyster sauce (regular or vegetarian)
1 Teaspoon sugar
1/2 Tablespoon water

⏰ TIMESTAMPS ⏰
0:00 - Slice cabbage
0:10 - Cut carrot and onion
0:22 - Chop green onion and garlic
0:40 - Make the Chow Mein sauce
0:58 - Prepare the noodle
1:29 - Stir fry carrot
1:42 - Add cabbage, onion and stir fry
2:28 - Stir fry noodles
2:46 - Add vegetables back and mix
2:57 - Add the sauce and stir fry
3:18 - Add green onion, black pepper
3:36 - Perfect Chow Mein at home
