Hi guys!

This is me at 37 weeks
trying all the Japanese old wives' tales to induce labor :)

In Japan, a contraction is called Jintsu.
So Japanese people will call these a "Jin-x" !

1. Eat Yakiniku
Doing some googling, this seems to have become a thing because many pregnant women go to Yakiniku as a "last meal" before having baby as it becomes difficult to go (with the smoke and set up of table) to go once baby arrives.

2. Drink Oronamin - C
This is a fizzy drink with lots of vitamins. Something that was a hit in Japan in the late 90s 00s before energy drinks were a thing.
(Oronamin C includes caffeine, so this may not be for you if you're not doing caffeine during pregnancy!)

3. Zoukin Gake - cleaning the floor with a Zoukin (Old rag)
The position you're in on all 4s when mopping the floor is also a position recommended to do stretches in to drop baby. That's probably where this comes from :D

4. Climb lots of stairs
This is just an obvious exercise to help baby head drop.

5. Eat curry
"eat spicy food" is also considered a way to induce labor in the west. This probably is the same idea. Loved the katsu - omelet curry from "My curry shokudo" !
